Real-World Branch/Merge Experiences

Description

The ability to branch and merge source code can really enable a team or multiple teams to build software in parallel; support multiple versions of software; and work in a an agile way.  You can read about countless strategies to accomplish this, but it can be a bit overwhelming picking the strategy that is right for your team.  We will be hearing from a variety of organizations on the best practices and lessons learned of doing branching and merging in a production environment with Team Foundation Server.

Our panel consists of:

 Jason Wahlgren from the Long Term Care Group;

  Mike Fong, from the State of Minnesota Department of Economic Employment and Development;  Mike is a Microsoft.Net Application Architect, TFS Administrator, Configuration Manager, and Microsoft Technology evangelist with 20 years of software development experience at Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Scott Brown, Sr. Engineering Manager, Platform Design & Implementation

Scott has over 13 years of product development experience in a variety of industries and has held positions of increasing responsibility.  He has been with Medtronic in Patient Management for 7 years and currently leads the Platform Design and Implementation Team.  He has been leading Patient Management's TFS effort since 2004 and most recently he led the upgrade to TFS 2008 and rolled out a code management strategy across the organization.
